Senior Management

Ernst (Ernie) Hagen -
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer - Tanning, Richina Industries

Ernie will be responsible for all tanning activities that are currently part of SRL, SRLT and SLC.

Ernie has enjoyed a long and distinguished career spanning over 45 years in the leather industry (the last nine being China-based). Ernie has worked in almost every aspect of tanning and leather manufacturing activities that RIL is involved in, and he has run large businesses at the most senior level.

Geoffrey Thams –
General Manager Bovine Shoe Leather Division,, Richina Industries

Geoffrey has worked in the leather industry for nearly 20 years, with strong operational and management experience obtained from his roles in Australia with Packer Leather and Austanners.

Prior to joining SRL Geoffrey was already well experienced in the Asian leather environment as a result of the experience obtained in his job as the Shanghai based Technical Manager for BASF. Geoff has an MBA, Chemical Engineering degree, and a leather technology diploma.

Keith Stevens -
General Manager Ovine Garment Leather Division,, Richina Industries

Keith has had long experience in the tanning industry. Prior to his appointment to Shanghai Richina Leather's ovine business in February 1999, Keith was General Manager at Waitaki Leathers Limited (a New Zealand based ovine tanner) for 13 years. Keith combines hands-on technical skills with a customer-focused market approach. He also has extensive product knowledge, ranging from the raw material through to the final fashion garment.

Carl Flach –
General Manager Automotive Leather Division,, Richina Industries

Carl Joined RPL in January 2005 bringing his experience from the bovine leather industry in Europe. Carl has been involved in the leather industry more than 20 years with experience in both the technical and commercial side of the business. Up until joining RPL he was manager in the Norwegian tannery Borge A/S producing high quality leather.

Gary He –
General Manager – Upholstery Division, Richina Industries

Gary joined Richina Industries Tanning Division, from September 1st, 2005, as General Manager for the Upholstery tanning business. Gary brings more than 15 years of extensive experience in the Chinese leather industry. He has worked in both tanning and “cut and sew” for upholstery leather.

Leo Li -
Financial Controller – Richina Industries

Leo Li was appointed to the newly established position of Financial Controller - Richina Industries in August 2005. A qualified accountant Leo has had over 5 years experience within SRL in senior financial roles. Prior to this Leo has had extensive experience within the major accountancy firms.

Leo will be responsible for all the accounting and finance activities within Richina Industries, working across all its industry sectors.
